Dr. James Tabor is a retired Professor in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he taught Christian origins and ancient Judaism for thirty-three years, serving as Chair of the Department for a decade. His Ph.D. is from the University of Chicago. He now devotes himself full-time to research, archaeological field work, and publishing. [More Bio]

Requirements: Walking and hiking from 3-6 miles a day. On your feet for up to 7 hours per day. Extended standing during site visits with limited or no public seating. Uneven terrain, limited public handrails, unavoidable stairs, marble and terracotta flooring, cobblestones, steep inclines, loose gravel, dirt paths, and uneven and rocky streets and sidewalks. Expect crowded conditions in pedestrian centers and museums. Not recommended for people with mobility issues including: wheelchairs, walkers and people who can't walk unassisted for 3-6 miles per day.
We recommend, but do not require, Covid-19 vaccination for all attendees. For the safety of all, including yourself, please test for Covid-19 if you have been exposed or feel less than 100%.
It is now an EU requirement that all non-EU citizens from non-visa countries for tourist purposes (including Americans, Canadians, Australians, etc.) will need to fill out the ETIAS registration form, pay the required fees and have this done before entering the EU as a tourist.
All tours and cruises in EU countries will need this information and BAS tour members will need to fill an ETIAS non-visa form out each time that they are a short term tourist in Europe from now going forward. Legally, a BAS representative cannot fill out the visa form for a tour participant.
