October 24, Monday: Depart USA (B/D)

October 25, Tuesday: Arrive in Cairo
Visit Old Cairo complex, including Roman Tower / Hanging Church and chapels / National Museum of Egyptian Civilization / Check into your hotel for dinner and overnight. (D)

October 26, Wednesday: Giza & Cairo
Giza Pyramid Complex / Sphinx / Grand Egyptian Museum / Late afternoon flight to Aswan / Dinner and overnight in Aswan. Check into your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B/D)

October 27, Thursday: Abu Simbel
Day trip to Abu Simbel (Charter Flight) / Visit to the relocated temples of Ramesses II and Hathor / Fly back to Aswan for dinner and overnight. Time permitting, take a boat trip to the nearby Nubian village. (B/D)

October 28, Friday: Aswan
Visit the Aswan Dam complex and discuss the construction and issues presented by its construction. Travel to the temples of Philae via boat. Also, go to Elephantine Island to see the museum. Finish the day at the only granite stone quarry in Egypt to see the unfinished obelisk. Board the tour cruise ship to begin your journey down the Nile. (B/D)

October 29, Saturday: Kom Ombo and Edfu
At Kom Ombo, visit the Temple of Horus and Sobek / Visit crocodile mummies in museum / Afternoon – depart ship and travel by carriage to Edfu – Temple of Horus / Return to the cruise ship / Dress like an ancient Egyptian night. (B/D)

October 30, Sunday: Luxor
Colossus of Memnon site / Temple of Hatshepset / Valley of the Kings and Queens / Evening tour of Luxor Temple (lit up for the night) / Return to ship. (B/D)

October 31, Monday: Luxor
Luxor Museum / Mummification Museum / Valley of the Sphinxes / Evening tour of Karnak Temple / Check into your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B/D)

November 1, Tuesday: Karnak Temple
Overview of temple with guide / Meet with curator and visit new discoveries / Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B/D)

November 2, Wednesday: Cairo
Morning flight to Cairo / Afternoon visit to the Citadel and Mohammed Ali Mosque / Check into hotel for dinner and overnight. (B/D)

November 3, Thursday: Alexandria Day trip
Drive to Alexandria and enjoy a day tour of the city, including the catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, the Citadel of Qaitbay and the modern Library of Alexandria. Return to Cairo for dinner and overnight. (B/D)

November 4, Friday: Memphis and Sakkara
Memphis – Visit the site and statue of Ramesses II / Sakkara – Visit the site. (B/D)

November 5, Saturday: Return to USA

Essam Zeid was born and raised in Egypt, where he studied business administration and earned a post-graduate diploma in tour guiding. He enjoys working with tourists from all over the world. His special interest is linking Egypt’s ancient history with the lands and peoples of the biblical world. His favorite sites in Egypt are the majestical pyramids and the magical city of Luxor.
