At Tehran’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization (CHTHO) ceremony earlier this week, researchers unveiled a new map of 45,000 archaeological sites across Iran. The team has been working on the project since 2009, and calls the release the first phase of a longer project, which will incorporate data from additional research projects.
