Eilat Mazar of the Hebrew University’s Institute of Archaeology has been the Director of the Ophel excavations since 2009 and was the Director of the City of David excavations from 2005 to 2008. She also has been publishing the final report of the excavations south of the Temple Mount led by her late grandfather Benjamin Mazar.
