WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 21, 2023)—The BAS Scholars Series continues Wednesday, December 6 at 8 pm Eastern with the live, online presentation of The Life of Jesus Written in Stone: The Earliest Commemorative Churches in Roman Palestine by Dr. Jordan Ryan.
Ryan is Assistant Professor of New Testament at Wheaton College. He is also on staff with the Tel Shimron excavations, where he leads research on the Roman period.
Join Prof. Ryan for his compelling talk on the archaeology and architecture of Christianity’s first commemorative churches, and the narratives and traditions about the life of Jesus that quickly attached themselves to them in late antiquity.
The BAS Scholars Series is a quarterly program of BAS, the Biblical Archaeology Society, a nonprofit educational organization that bridges the gap between academia and the public in the field of biblical archaeology. Each hour-long talk via Zoom focuses on a subject of the speaker’s expertise in archaeology and the Bible.
General admission rate is $10 per event. They are free for All-Access Members of the society. To register for this event and other BAS Travel/Study offerings, go to its award-winning website: www.biblicalarchaeology.org/events.
