Q: When and where is the Fall Bible Fest 2023?

A: It is being held at the San Antonio Marriott Airport Hotel (in San Antonio, Texas). It is taking place on November 17- 19. It will be held both in-person and online.

Q: Who is speaking at the Bible Fest?

A: A total of 19 respected lecturers from the biblical archaeology field are going to be speaking at the Fall Bible Fest 2023. The well-known scholars: April DeConick, Mark Goodacre, James Tabor, and Ben Witherington are already scheduled to speak at our conference with more speakers added to the schedule in the near future.

Q: How do I get to the Fall Bible Fest in San Antonio?

A: You may fly into the San Antonio Airport, and then get a San Antonio Airport Hotel shuttle directly to the hotel. The hotel is less than one mile away from the airport.


Q: How do I get from the San Antonio Airport Hotel to the downtown San Antonio area?

A: It is about 8 miles to the downtown San Antonio area. You may take a taxi, Lyft or Uber to the downtown area.


Q: Where can I eat when I am at the conference?

A: You may eat in the Marriott Hotel, or go down the street to the Mall to the food court. In addition, there are several other restaurants near the hotel within a three-block radius. Also, a breakfast buffet will be served in the Marriott Airport hotel for all BAS Bible Fest attendees at the hotel breakfast area on Saturday morning and Sunday morning before the lectures start. There will also be coffee and tea available during the day for the attendees. Finally, on Saturday night at our hotel, we will hold a buffet banquet for all in-person Bible Fest attendees.


Q: What nights should I book at the Marriott San Antonio Airport Hotel? How much does it cost per night?

A: To attend the BAS Fall Bible Fest Conference, please book for the nights of November 17 and 18 (Friday and Saturday). Check-in time at the hotel is 4 pm. The checkout time is 11 am on Sunday morning, November 19. The cost per night per person is $139 whether you are alone in your hotel room or share your hotel room.

Q: What if I can’t get to the Bible Fest in San Antonio in person?

A: If you can’t get to the Fall Bible Fest in San Antonio in person, please join us online. You may buy an online Bible Fest ticket on our BAS website. Then, we’ll send you a link to get to our live online broadcast for all of our 19 lectures. If you can’t be near your computer during the live conference on November 17-19, once you buy an online Bible Fest ticket, you will also get a link in your email to view all the recorded lectures. About a week or so after the Bible Fest (after we edit the recordings), we will send the link and password to the recorded lectures to our BAS subscribers’ emails, and you may view all the lectures when you have some free time on your own computer.


Q: What if I wish to attend the Society for Biblical Literature conference as well as the BAS Fall Bible Fest?

A: On Friday, November 17, the BAS Bible Fest plenary lecturer is speaking at 7 pm (Central Time) at our Marriott hotel. So, you would have all day  on Friday until 7 pm to attend SBL conference events in the San Antonio’s Riverwalk area. On Saturday, November 18, the BAS Fall Bible Fest has a full roster of lecturers starting at 8:45 am and going until 5:30 pm. After that, at 7:00-8:30 pm, we will be holding a buffet banquet for our BAS Bible Fest attendees.  On Sunday, November 19, we have a half day of lectures scheduled, so, you would be able to attend all the afternoon and evening events at the SBL conference. Finally, the SBL conference events will continue to run on Monday and Tuesday (November 20 and 21) after our BAS conference ends on Sunday, November 19 at 12:30 pm.


Q: What are the times for the lectures at the BAS Fall Bible Fest?

A: Our first lecture from the plenary speaker is on Friday night (November 17) from 7 to 8 pm. On Saturday, November 18, we have our lectures starting at 8:45 am to 9:45 pm, then a 15 minute break, and our next speakers will be at 10:00 to 11:00 am. Next, we will have speakers at 11:15 to 12:15 pm, and then we will have a lunch break from 12:15 to 1:30 pm. In the afternoon, we’ll have speakers at 1:30 to 2:30 pm, 2:45 to 3:45 pm, and 4:00 to 5:00 pm. That Saturday night, BAS will host a buffet banquet at the Marriott hotel from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. On Sunday, we will have lecturers speaking from 8:45 to 9:45 am, 10:00 to 11:00 am, and lastly, 11:15 to 12:15 pm.. After that, our BAS Fall Bible Fest 2023 will be complete.
